HOMEWOOD | Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses and beach chairs will blanket Irwin Park on Friday during the H-F Park District's Starry Nights Beach Party.

For more than two decades, the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has brought entertainment to town at the Marie Irwin Bandshell in Irwin Park at Ridge Road and Highland Avenue in Homewood. This summer's first Starry Nights concert will feature the return of Gone 2 Paradise, the Ultimate Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band.

An all-ages crowd pleaser, Gone 2 Paradise brings the relaxing, summer music of Jimmy Buffett alive.

They will start singing hits like "Margaritaville" and "Cheeseburger in Paradise" at 8 p.m. Free family activities will begin when the gates open at 6:30 p.m. All ages can participate in bean bags, face painting, a moon jump, sand tables, limbo and more.

Adding to the island atmosphere will be live pet parrots and contests for craziest hat and wildest Hawaiian shirt.

Dinner and dessert will be sold by Aurelio's Pizza, Katering for Kids, Mitchell's Ice Cream & Soda Shop, Lassen's Sports Bar and Forty 8 Thirteen Concessions. Beer, wine, pop and margaritas will be sold by the park district.

Advance tickets at this smoke-free event are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 15.

Tickets can be purchased with a credit card by calling (708) 957-0300, or in person at the Goldberg Administrative Building, 3301 Flossmoor Road, or the Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave. Day-of-show tickets are an additional $2 each.
