CROWN POINT | Lake Criminal Court Judge Clarence Murray found a Park Forest, Ill., man guilty Monday of intimidation and harassment.

Nicholas Gelet, 29, admitted he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend while she worked at the Schererville Wal-Mart in December, court records show.

When Gelet visited her at her job, he also told her he had people following her. In February, Gelet called the woman about 20 times and sent several text messages threatening to kill her, court documents state.

Murray sentenced Gelet six months in jail followed by 18 months on probation. Gelet also must complete substance abuse counseling and anger management classes.
