CHICAGO | The ex-boyfriend of a Chicago woman slain in September, and whose body was found in Calumet City, has been charged in her death.
Thirty-year-old Reginald Potts is being held on first-degree murder charges in the death of 28-year-old Nailah Franklin, John Gorman, chief spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office, said late Friday.
Franklin's body was found Sept. 27 in Calumet City, nine days after the pharmaceutical sales representative for Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly was reported missing.
Two Calumet City police officers found Frankilin's body behind a group of vacant businesses in the 200 block of River Oaks Drive.
Franklin's car had been found in Hammond just days earlier.
Family members last heard from Franklin on Sept. 18, when they received a vague text message that said she was having dinner and would call later. The graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School and the University of Illinois never did.
