Skybus Airlines, which started flying from Gary three weeks ago, is ceasing all operations nationwide.
A Columbus Regional Airport spokeswoman confirmed Friday night the airline will cease all operations as of Saturday. The Columbus Dispatch first reported the airline was going belly up.
Skybus Airlines is the only airline providing regularly scheduled passenger service to Gary/Chicago International Airport. It flies two roundtrip flights per day between Greensboro, N.C., and Gary.
Reports of Skybus' flop come just one day after another low-cost carrier, ATA Airlines, declared bankruptcy, stranding 10,000 travelers nationwide.
