The Jennifer S. Fallick Cancer Support Center in Homewood invites golfers and tennis players to its 16th annual Steve Fallick Golf & Tennis Outing on July 9. Former White Sox catcher Carlton Fisk, a 2000 inductee to the Baseball Hall of Fame, is honorary chairman of the event. He will attend and play in this golf outing at Flossmoor Country Club, 1441 Western Ave. This fundraiser includes golf or tennis, hole contests, lunch, cocktails and dinner, a silent auction and raffle, all part of the effort to raise $100,000 for local cancer support services.
Golfers and tennis players can register by visiting www.cancersupportcenter.org or by calling (708) 798-9171. Cost for golf, lunch and dinner is $300, golf only is $250, and dinner only is $55. Tennis players can participate in a round robin tennis tournament open to all levels. Tennis play is limited to 40 people, so early registration is encouraged. Tournament cost with lunch and dinner is $85, tennis only is $60, and dinner only is $55. Tennis players will be treated to a special pre-tourney tennis clinic with Wayne Muskievicz, tennis pro at Olympia Fields Country Club.
