Damage was limited to a pallet of pulp material
GRIFFITH | Firefighters quickly quelled a fire on a pallet of packing material Monday at Pactiv Corp.
Officers and firefighters were called to the plant, 300 W. Main St., at 1:49 p.m. after the small fire was reported, a police report states.
As the fire units went to the building, police temporarily blocked off the roads around the plant.
"Griffith fire units extinguished the fire, which appeared to be centered in the southwest corner of the building," Detective Matt Argadine said.
The facility manufactures food service packing products, Fire Chief George Thiel said shortly after the fire was put out.
