LAPORTE | High waters are keeping state roads closed in some parts of the state, the Indiana Department of Transportation announced Friday morning.

As of 7:30 a.m., the following sections of roadway were closed and will remain closed until the waters recede, officials said:

LaPorte and Starke counties: Ind. 39 between U.S. 30 and Ind. 8

Starke County: Ind. 23 between Ind. 8 and Ind. 10

Cass and Fulton counties: Ind. 17 between Ind. 16 and Ind. 14

Newton County: Ind. 55 between Ind. 16 and Ind. 114

Lake and Newton counties: Ind. 55 between Thayer and Shelby
