It's time for the Hatfields and McCoys to battle it out on the baseball field.

The Play it Again Sam Group and members and their families of St. John VFW Post 717 and the ladies and Men's auxiliaries will portray the Hatfields and McCoys at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Civic Park on W. 93rd St., next to the Town Hall.

The game is being sponsored by the Play it Again Sam Group and St. John Ladies Auxiliary Chaired by Joe Gerlach, phone number (219) 365-5791, Ellen Hogan, phone number (219)365-5517 and Dorothy Scheidt, Cancer Aid and Research Chairman.

The mush ball players will be dressed in red neck attire as well as some of the spectators. A prize for best player and the best spectator costumes are being given out by the Ladies Auxiliary.

A 50/50 raffle will be held. One half will go to Cancer Aid and Research and the other half to cover expenses.

Immediately after the game everyone is invited to the Post Home for hot dogs and chips and the winning ticket will be drawn there as well.

Complimentary tickets will be passed out but there is no charge, so put on your ragged jeans and ugliest baseball cap, pick a team to cheer for and help make this a fun event.

Call Ellen Hogan or Joe Gerlach for complimentary tickets and if you plan to attend.
