SCHOLAR BREAKFAST | Lake Station

Lake Station Dollars for Scholars will host a fundraising breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. March 8 at Edison Junior-Senior High School, 3304 Parkside Ave. Menu includes pancakes, French toast and biscuits and gravy. Donation is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children 12 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door.

MYASTHENIA GRAVIS | Merrillville

A support group for Myasthenia Gravis meets from 10 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of the month in the meeting room at the Lake County Public Library, 1919 W. U.S. 30. Use west entrance. The group is for patients and families affected by MG and those interested in more information. This is a highly misdiagnosed disease in which communication between nerves and muscles is impaired, causing weakness. Janet Neely is the group leader.

FORECLOSURE AID | Crown Point

NWI ACORN is accepting applications from low- to moderate-income families facing foreclosure at South Lake County Community Services, 1450 E. Joliet St. Families must provide original loan documents, recent tax returns, monthly budget, bank statements, etc. Canvassers are needed to distribute information concerning foreclosure assistance in Crown Point, Dyer, Hammond and East Chicago.

BENEFIT NIGHT | Morocco

A benefit for Jordan Musenbrock will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. today at North Newton High School, 1641 W. 250 North. Admission is $3 per person or $5 per couple. Four bands will be performing a variety of music and a large variety of food and drink will be available to purchase. Jordan, 18, is a high school senior who was paralyzed in a car accident on Halloween, 2007. All proceeds will go to his family to help them financially cope with unexpected expenses. Kankakee Valley Historical Society will present a Collier Lodge archaeological dig program at 10:15 a.m. March 8 at the Midwest Open-Air Museums Coordinating Council Conference at The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza. 800 E. 81st Ave. The archaeological video "Archaeological Adventure on the Kankakee" will be shown and Dr. Schurr will talk about last year's dig and plans for this year.
