CHAMPAIGN | Illinois center Mike Tisdale shares Big Ten player of the week honors this week with Purdue guard and E.C. Central grad E'Twaun Moore.
Tisdale is a 7-foot-1 sophomore who was named MVP at the South Padre Invitational. The Illini (6-0) won the Thanksgiving-weekend tournament with victories over Kent State and Tulsa.
Tisdale had a career-high 20 points against Kent State and 12 against Tulsa.
Moore averaged 20.5 points a game in the semifinal and final of the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off. The 10th-ranked Boilermakers (5-1) lost the final to No. 11 Oklahoma.
