EAST CHICAGO | An aspiring rap artist selling his new disc outside a south side gas station Wednesday night also was carrying marijuana, police said.

Brian Keith Harrison, 23, of Gary, told police he was promoting his new CD when officers responded to a complaint about him at the J T Petroleum Gas Center in the 5600 block of Indianapolis Boulevard at 7 p.m.

But he didn't have a solicitor's license, and police reported finding a plastic bag containing marijuana in his pocket during a search. Harrison was taken into custody for probable cause possession. -- BY STEVE ZABROSKI, TIMES CORRESPONDENT
