Distribution centers where flooding victims may obtain a host of emergency supplies have been set up in the Wicker Park Clubhouse in Highland and the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Munster, North Township Trustee Frank Mrvan said Wednesday.

Mrvan said $70,000 worth of cleaning supplies, bathroom and other household products, clothing, food, water and other emergency goods have been provided through the Governor's Office of Faith-based Community Initiatives and the Indianapolis-based Harvest Food Bank.

Those in need may stop by the Wicker Park Clubhouse, which is the first building to the right inside the park gates, or the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 8955 Columbia Ave. Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents will be asked to complete a short application form to obtain supplies.

The township also is seeking volunteers to help victims with their cleanup efforts, Mrvan said. Those interested may call the township office at (219) 932-2530 to volunteer.
