Two men were shot and killed in their apartment complex in Dolton Wednesday near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Cottage Grove Avenue.

Terrance McIntosh, 16, and Troy Hudson Jr., 28 - both of 14423 Lincoln Ave. - were shot and killed there, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. and police blocked lanes of traffic on Lincoln and a gas station parking lot at the intersection for nearly two hours. Officers remained on the scene Wednesday evening and kept caution tape at an area behind a nearby apartment building.

Officers on the scene refused to comment on whether the shooting occurred in or outside the apartment building.

Dolton police were not available for further comment early Thursday morning.

An employee at a Marathon gas station at the corner of Lincoln and Cottage Grove, who wished to not be identified, said he heard the gunshots about 5 p.m. while he was in his office.

Soon after, he said the area was swarming with police and an ambulance.
