Author visit | Lansing

Lansing Public Library, 2750 Indiana Ave., will host an author visit at 6:30 tonight. "Never What it Seems" by Diane Martin is the featured book. Author will have books available for purchase. There will be a book signing following the program.

SPRING FLING | Homewood

Seniors 55 and older can celebrate the season at the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District's FAB Spring Fling from noon to 2 p.m. April 21 at the Irwin Center, 18120 S. Community ministry | Lansing

Cheryl Cole, a specially trained and licensed counselor with the Lansing Marriage and Family Counseling Center, will present a brief overview of the program "The Right to be a Grown-Up" at 7 p.m. April 23 in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave. After learning about the program, participants can register for the five-week course. The program focuses on difficult teens and provides the tools to gain control in a loving and supportive manner. This is a LYDIA Ministries sponsored activity to the community.

The American Veterans Motorcycle Riders Association, Chapter 1, hosts its third annual breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. April 20 at Hessville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7881, 6831 Kennedy Ave. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.
