Women say man with gun stole their purses
Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday evening in the McDonald's parking lot at 6100 Mississippi St.
Police said two women were in a parked car about 10:30 p.m. when a man approached the car with a small semiautomatic handgun and demanded their purses.
The women gave up their purses and the suspect fled the scene, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds and between the ages of 25 and 30. The suspect was wearing a black, hooded sweat shirt and black pants.

Valpo man charged in traffic stop, foot chase
Nikola Kilabarda, 23, of Valparaiso, has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and fleeing from law enforcement.
Police pulled over Kilabarda's car early Friday on 37th Avenue on suspicion he had been drinking.
Kilabarda got out of his vehicle and began running from police, who caught up with him in the Nob Hill subdivision, Lt. Steve Hauk said.
