Munster man hospitalized after hitting wall, semi
LANSING | A 52-year-old Munster man faces charges after state police say the Toyota sport utility vehicle he was driving ricocheted off a Kingery Expressway median wall early Thursday and into a semitrailer.
Guy R. Adams, of Munster was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields after the accident at 1:34 a.m. east of Torrence Avenue, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez said.
Adams, whose latest condition was not available, is charged with driving under the influence, said Gutierrez, who cited department policy in declining to release Reynoso's blood-alcohol concentration.
The crash happened after police say Adams lost control of the westbound vehicle for unknown reasons, Gutierrez said. The vehicle crossed several lanes of traffic before striking the concrete median, he said.
The impact caused the vehicle to return to the roadway and strike the semi, Gutierrez said. The driver of the semi was not injured, he said.
