Funeral services for Dolton Mayor William "Bill" Shaw will take place at 10 a.m. today with a wake preceding the funeral at 9 a.m. at New Zion Christian Fellowship Church, 14200 Chicago Road, Dolton.

Visitation took place Wednesday for Shaw, who died Nov. 26 after a four-year battle with colon cancer. He was 71.

Shaw was elected mayor in 1997. Prior to that, he served five terms as Illinois state representative from the 34th District.
