VALPARAISO | The Porter County Voter Registration Office needs residents who can work election day, May 6.

Kathy Kozuszek, the Democrat head of the office, said those interested in working as clerks and judges can be either Republicans or Democrats. Clerks and judges are paid $100 for the day. Inspectors must be Democrats and will be paid $125 for the day.

All workers must be registered voters. Workers must be 17 years old or older.

Those interested will also have to attend a two-hour class. Classes will be held in morning, afternoon and evening sessions from April 14 to 26.
