Music showcase | Hammond

Towle Community Theater, 5205 Hohman Ave., will host its second Local Music Showcase at 8 p.m. Oct. 10. Lying Delilah and Nomad Planets are the featured bands. Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 the day of the show.

The Whiting Parks Department will be taking a trip to the Towle Theater on Dec. 11 to see "Fabulous '50s Christmas," a tribute to Perry Como and Andy Williams. Greater Hammond Community Services and Hammond Parks & Recreation have teamed up to host a food drive in an effort to replenish the food pantry that serves Hammond and the surrounding community for the holiday season. Donations of nonperishable food items can be dropped off at the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 S. Sohl Ave., until Nov. 7. No clothing or paper products are needed at this time.
