Burnham's officials praise cable TV option
BURNHAM | Dolton and Harvey are among the municipalities that will receive AT&T Inc.'s new combined television/Internet package when it comes to Burnham.
The company presented its plan to the Burnham Village Board earlier this month although its officials would not say when the town would receive the package.
Officials say it is the only 100 percent Internet-based TV service in the country.
The new service, called U-verse TV, will cost subscribers between $69 and $154 per month depending on how many cable stations they want and the speed of their Internet connection.
Village officials were ecstatic about the service, partly because residents only have one cable television choice currently.
"AT&T is coming into Burnham and will be an alternative to Comcast," Village President Robert Polk said.
According to the company, residents of Dolton, Harvey, Dixmoor, Markham, and Riverdale will have access to the service.
