Semitrailer full of cargo stolen

PORTAGE | A Portage trucking company on Monday reported someone stole a semitrailer which had a load of 47 pallets and 47 bundles of shingles from the business.

M & R Trucking, 5380 U.S. 20, told police the loss is $75,000. The stolen semi is a white 2000 Mack tractor with an aluminum 2007 Fontain trailer.

Bullets fired into sewer plant building

PORTER TOWNSHIP | The subdivision engineer for Falling Waters subdivision told police someone shot out several windows to the sewer plant building on Micala Drive between Saturday and Monday.

In addition, the complainant told police some valves inside the plant were rotated in an effort to clog the system. The damage is $300. Police said a bullet was recovered and taken as evidence.

MONDAY

Fraud. East U.S. 12 resident Norman Dierdorf reported someone who handled his finances misused his checks and credit cards. The loss is $50,000.

Theft. Central Avenue resident Sherri James reported a gold wedding band and $250 in loose change stolen from her home. The loss is $622.

MONDAY

Theft. Robbinhurst Golf Course, 383 W. County Road 875 North, reported the theft of seven golf hole markers. The flags are worth a total of $325.50.

Theft. Delta Electric Service, of Portage, reported $5,000 worth of wire stolen from his storage unit at 2999 McCool Road.

Burglary. County Road 700 North residents Raymond Trager and Tommie Peeler reported a $3,600 television and $975 worth of other electronics stolen from their home.

SATURDAY

Theft. Baltimore Road resident Billie Wallace reported $100 cash and a $150 satellite radio stolen from her car, which was outside her apartment.

FRIDAY

Burglary. North Street resident Richard Lang reported a $120 lamp, a $50 sign and a $150 statue stolen from his home.

Theft. Second Street resident Josh Branshaw reported a $75 air conditioner stolen from his garage.

Vandalism. Childress Industrial Controls, 100 Brown Court, reported $500 damage to a window.
