The East Hammond/Pullman Crime Watch invites the public to its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at Ophelia Steen Community Center, 5927 Columbia Ave. Speakers will provide helpful information on how being the "eyes and ears" of the police department can help to make the city safer and more secure. Crime Watch is about neighbors looking out for neighbors, building pride among residents and businesses, preventing crime, reducing fear and improving the overall quality of life.

Northwest Indiana Families for Effective Autism Treatment meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 14 at Jean Shepherd Community Center, 3031 Mahoney Drive. IN FEAT is a nonprofit support group for families and professionals interested in effective teaching and treatment of individuals with autism or related developmental disorders.
