HOBART | In light of recent legislative changes, city officials are planning a financial workshop for March 31.

The workshop, which will be presented by Umbaugh and Associates, will be at the Hobart Police Department south substation inside Westfield Southlake mall.

There is no cost to attend the workshop, which will be from 2:30 to 6 p.m.

The workshop will provide an overview of some of the financial challenges cities and towns face because of recent changes in the county tax system, Mayor Brian Snedecor said.

The workshop, which will deal with how some municipal projects will be affected, is geared to administrative and elected officials and department heads from communities throughout Lake County.

Limited seating is available.

Those attending are asked to park in the lower level parking lot behind the mall.

For reservations, call the mayor's office at (219) 942-6112 by Wednesday.
