PORTAGE | Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze early Friday morning which heavily damaged the G.C. Zarnas Co., an industrial painting company, at 6040 Eagle Ave.
Portage Assistant Fire Chief Mike Bucy said police discovered the fire which began just after 3 a.m. Friday. The fire, which is still under investigation, appeared to begin in an outside storage trailer. The heat of the fire transfered into the building against a wall where paints and solvents were stored.
Firefighters were on scene until 6:23 a.m. Friday. Assisting Portage at the scene were Ogden Dunes, Burns Harbor, Porter and South Haven fire departments.
There were no injuries reported.
