Charges are pending against a 28-year-old Chicago Heights man whom state police say was the driver in a fatal accident Sunday morning near Glenwood.

Francisco Reynoso, of the 1200 block of West End Avenue, is being held in custody pending official charges, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez said.

Thirty-year-old Claudia Luebano, of Hammond, died as a result from injuries suffered in the crash, which happened about 9:40 a.m. on northbound Ill. 394 near Glenwood-Lansing Road, Gutierrez said.

Luebano was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Gutierrez said Reynoso lost control of his 1995 Plymouth Voyager for unknown reasons, veered toward the right shoulder and down a grassy embankment before striking a tree. Luebano was a passenger in the vehicle.

Reynoso, who refused medical attention, was taken into custody at the scene.
