Times Staff Report

Two men being treated for gunshot wounds were arrested early Friday by Cook County sheriff's police at an Oak Forest hospital after members of the group they were with started a disturbance.

Twenty-nine-year-old Richard Moore, of County Club Hills, and 35-year-old Jesse A. Taylor, of Chicago Heights, were arrested on outstanding warrants, said Penny Mateck, spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff's Department.

The two men were part of a group of six men who arrived at the hospital at 3:45 a.m. after Moore was shot in the left leg outside Dolton's Secrets Nightclub, 14112 Chicago Road, Mateck said.

While Moore was being treated, his five friends waiting in the emergency room started to cause a disturbance, Mateck said. Oak Forest Hospital police called the sheriff's police, the Oak Forest police and the Illinois State Police, she said.

The situation calmed down, and as authorities were taking information from the men, police learned Moore had an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended or revoked license, Mateck said.

While talking to Taylor, police saw he had been shot in the right shoulder blade and initially refused medical treatment, Mateck said. He was eventually treated and authorities found an outstanding warrant for failure to register as sex offender, she said.

Both Moore and Taylor were treated and released. They are in custody for further questioning as the investigation continues, Mateck said.
