Hobart happenings
Kudos to the Joan Martin Elementary School students who worked together under the direction of sponsor Leslie Maxwell to create a short video for Disabilities Awareness Month. The students wrote, filmed and edited the video.
The short, live action film was shown to the school in March for Disabilities Awareness Month, then entered in the State Media Fair and the International Media Fair. In April, the students were invited to Indianapolis and received a first-place award at the state level. At the international level, the group was awarded Best of Festival honors for the project.
The International Media Fair is in Orlando, Fla. from Nov. 5-9 and the students are preparing to travel there to receive this award. Donations toward their travel expenses can be made to Joan Martin Elementary School, 301 E. 10th St., Hobart, IN 46342
