600 students in Merrillville will get books
MERRILLVILLE | The Merrillville Kiwanis Club will distribute dictionaries to every third-grader in the Merrillville Community School Corp. beginning April 23.
Approximately 600 students will get the dictionaries, allowing them to use the books throughout their school career and beyond.
The Merrillville Breakfast Kiwanis and the Noon Kiwanis project is designed to aid third-grade teachers in their goal to see their students leave school at the end of the year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers.
A Kiwanis club member will personally visit each third-grade classroom to distribute the books.
