VALPARAISO | A crash shortly before noon Thursday in front of the Valparaiso Nazarene Church at the intersection of Silhavy Avenue and Glendale Boulevard injured one man.

A silver Honda van pulled into the path of a black SUV southbound on Silhavy, causing the SUV to strike the van, flip over and strike a northbound car before coming to rest on its side.

An infant in a car seat in the back of the rolled-over SUV appeared to escape injury. Bystanders pulled the boy from the vehicle and delivered him to his mother, who had been riding in the van. The woman also appeared to escape injury.

A man riding in the SUV sustained a laceration to his forearm. EMS responders treated the man at the scene.
