LIBERTY TOWNSHIP | A Liberty Township woman was arrested after police received a report that she was standing in the roadway near her home, yelling at people and flashing young people and other passers-by.

Georgette Gilbert, 42, of 807 Stratford Drive, was arrested Tuesday night on charges of public intoxication, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and resisting.

Porter County police responded to her street at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday. A group of people told them Gilbert was coming out of her home drunk and was exposing herself. Police said Gilbert yelled profanities at an officer when he tried to talk to her.

Police said she came out of her home in a bra and pajama pants and yelled at people across the street, exposing her breasts every time she threw her arms into the air. Police got her back inside her home and told her to stay inside or be arrested on a public intoxication charge.

Police said a short time later she left her home and left her property to yell at the officer and the witnesses he was talking with. Police said they arrested her on a public intoxication charge.

Once inside a squad car, police said she kicked out the car's rear passenger's side window. She suffered a cut foot and was treated at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus before being jailed. Police said Gilbert stated she was off her medication.

A witness told police area juveniles had been going in Gilbert's home and harassing her while she was passed out. The witness said Gilbert then yelled at people while half dressed and broke her own bedroom windows.
