Spaghetti dinner | Whiting

Whiting Knights of Columbus is having a spaghetti benefit dinner Nov. 22 at 119th and Atchison Avenue. Doors open at 5 p.m. It's $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and younger. There will be $1 beers and $3 mix drinks. There's also a silent auction, raffles and a DJ.

Taxpayers' group | Hammond

The Team Hammond Taxpayers' Group will meet Nov. 25 at the Woodmar United Methodist Church, 7320 Northcote Ave. Meet and greet is at 6:30 p.m. with a general meeting at 7 p.m. Items on the agenda include county and city budget submissions, the ruling on the petition objection and an upcoming planning forum.

Swinging seniors | Griffith

The Griffith Swinging Seniors group will have its annual Christmas party from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 6 at American Legion Post 66, 132 N. Wiggs. The catered meal will cost $12 per person. Entertainment is Wolffgang Girls Music Group. There will be door prizes. No tickets will be sold at the door.

South Shore Arts | Munster

Art enthusiasts are invited to attend South Shore Arts free Art in Focus meeting for a video and discussion on artist Katsushika Hokusai and his work "The Great Wave of Kanagawa." It will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 24 in the Bachman Gallery at the Center for Visual & Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road.

Singles Club | Hobart

New Horizons Singles Club, which has been in existence for more than 25 years, has moved its meetings from the Halls of St. George in Schererville to the Hobart Elks, 61st Street in Hobart. They meet at 8 p.m. every Tuesday night for dances and will still meet the second and fourth Tuesday. The group has a variety of functions including a potluck, golf outings, miniature golf and trips to baseball games. They also meet monthly for a pizza, bowling and Sunday brunch at area restaurants.
