Former In-Pact worker charged in thefts
A Gary woman who formerly worked for the social service agency In-Pact was charged Tuesday with stealing from three clients of the organization.
Carolyn D. Wilson, 35, of Gary, faces three counts of felony theft and one count of felony fraud on a financial institution after she admitted to authorities that she cashed checks signed by three residents last year and took the money, court records say.
The total theft amount was $590, records say.
Wilson told authorities she planned to pay the money back, but had taken it because she was having financial problems due to her husband's drug habit, records say.
