It's time again for the annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Lakes of the Four Seasons Lions Club.

The event will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the clubhouse. There will be areas roped off for different age groups so the children can hunt for more than 4,000 hidden eggs that are stuffed with candy. There will also be fun filled raffles for the kids.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. And as always, this event is free and all are welcome.

Easter services

Easter Sunday promises to be a fun and an educational day for children at Town & Country Christian Church, 7037 E. 117th Ave. in Winfield

Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture the moments their children will have from 10 to 10:45 a.m. visiting Jesus and his disciples outside the empty tomb. All activities for the children, grade 5 and younger, will be held inside the educational wing of the church, including an Easter Egg Hunt, games and crafts. In addition, each family will receive a copy of the book, "Easter Bunny, Are You for Real?" to take home and further explore the true meaning of Easter. A continental breakfast will also be served.

At the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services, men, women and children will come together to celebrate the resurrection of the risen Christ.

Blue Ribbon campaign

Winfield Area Exchange Club is participating in the National Blue Ribbon Campaign for the prevention of child abuse during April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The blue ribbon symbolizes the more than 3.2 million children who are reported to child protective services each year in the U.S. as being abused or neglected.

Club members will distribute blue ribbon cutout cards to participating local merchants. Residents are asked to donate $1 per card, sign their name, and the merchant will publicly display the card during the campaign. The Winfield club is joining hundreds of other Exchange clubs in addressing this tragic problem and helping those who have been affected. Funds raised will be used by the club to support programs targeting child safety and welfare.

Local business wishing to participate in the campaign can contact Michelle Colvin at (219) 801-0498 or Barbara Kline at 661-2600.

Winfield Area Exchange Club is a service club of local residents who work together to improve the community through service projects in Americanism, youth activities, community service and, its national project, the prevention of child abuse.
