SKOKIE, ILL. | More than 20 of the long-time volunteers who helped make the Brandeis Used Book Sale the world's largest outdoor sale are working with Little City Foundation to help carry on the sale. This year's Little City Used Book Sale will take place from June 9 through the 17 at Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie.

"Having volunteered for the Brandeis Used Book Sale for more than 30 years, I'm pleased to be able help a worthy organization like Little City carry on the tradition of the sale," said Joan Loeb, of Highland Park, in a news release.

"We're very grateful for the generosity, hard work and advice we've received from so many of the women who helped make the Brandeis sale a 48-year institution," said Shawn Jeffers, Little City Foundation's executive director. "The love of books and the chance to support an important cause, the two things that made the Brandeis Sale so successful, are the things that have led these women to follow their hearts and continue as volunteers."

The Brandeis volunteers assisted Little City in setting up a book sorting operation and continue to come to the Palatine campus each week to help sort, price and box books.

Little City is seeking donations of used books and volunteers, both to help prepare for the sale and to help staff the June event. For information on how to donate books and to volunteer call Little City Foundation at (847) 221-7856 or e-mail booksale@littlecity.org.
