Sulski, a seven-year member of the Dusty Rhode Portage Club, was among 13 young adults were chosen from their individual Boys & Girls Club chapters as the best representative to advance to the state level of competition last month because of their outstanding contributions to their family, school, community, and club n as well as personal challenges and obstacles overcome.

The competition, which involved a speech, was held April 24 and 25 in Indianapolis.

Sulski has participated in the Smart Girls program, Afternoons Rock in Indiana, various athletic leagues and has been a tutor in the Link & Learn program helping younger members with their homework.

She seeks to make a difference in the lives of others with her cheerful and positive attitude. She has been a member of the Keystone teen leadership club and led the Love Luggage service project where members decorated suitcases to be given to foster children to transport their belongings.

It was the third year in a row the accounting firm BKD sponsored this statewide event.

BKD sponsors a $500 savings bond for each participant, keepsake items, and a day trip to various locations in Indianapolis for the Youth of the Year participants.
