PORTER | A Chesterton man was injured about noon Saturday in a motorcycle accident at U.S. 20 and Interstate 94.
According to Indiana State Police, a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Jeffrey D. Taylor, 27, of Westwood Lane in Chesterton, was on the ramp from U.S. 20 eastbound to I-94 eastbound when Taylor was going too fast to negotiate the curve.
The motorcycle slid on loose gravel and Taylor lost control of the motorcycle.
The Kawasaki entered into the right lane of eastbound I-94 and Taylor was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle flipped several times and landed on the inner shoulder next to the concrete median barrier wall.
Taylor was taken to Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus with a compound fracture to the left ankle. He remained in the hospital Monday in fair condition, according to a hospital spokesperson.
The Kawasaki, worth approximately $10,000, was totaled.
