GARY | City resident Lloyd Bailey, 23, died Friday of a gunshot wound to the chest, a spokesman for the Lake County coroner's office said.

Bailey was pronounced dead at the intersection of West Ridge Road and Van Buren Street in Gary about 7 p.m. His death was an apparent homicide, according to the coroner's office.

An official from the Gary Police Department could not be reached for comment.
