CEDAR LAKE | The family of a Hanover Central High School freshman who was sent home for two consecutive days for wearing pentagram sketches on her face chose not to send the girl to school Thursday.

Hanover Central Superintendent Michael Livovich has said the symbols on the girl's face are disruptive to the educational process.

Sky Holeman's father Andy Pecenka said the family is talking to an attorney who in turn will contact the American Civil Liberties Union regarding a violation of their daughter's civil rights.

Pecenka said his attorney also will contact the Hanover School attorney in hopes of "settling out of court."

Holeman said she is catching up on her work and hopes to get information from teachers about homework that will be due May 7 when she returns to school.
