Power was back on Monday for all but a handful of the 63,000 customers who lost it at the height of the strong storms and tornado that swept through the Region one week before.

"All customers are back in service," Larry Graham, spokesman for NIPSCO, said early Monday morning.

Graham said the majority of the customers had their power restored by late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

The handful of customers remaining without power one week after the storms hit on Monday were not related to NIPSCO service problems, he said.

"There are a few with damage to their service entrance on their homes who are waiting for electricians to make repairs so we can restore service," Graham said.
