SOUTH HAVEN | A South Haven man was arrested on multiple charges after he was accused of getting drunk and causing a disturbance inside Paul Saylor Elementary School in South Haven, then spitting blood and issuing threats to responding police officers and medics.
The man, John Herron, 20, of 785 Juniper Road, was arrested on charges of battery by bodily waste, intimidation, disorderly conduct, underage drinking and resisting.
Porter County police said they were called to the school, located at 331 Midway Drive, at 3:55 p.m. Thursday. A woman who was managing a food purchasing program in the school's cafeteria told police she saw Herron stagger into the cafeteria, then curse and be loud.
