HIGHLAND | A man threatened to shoot a Highland wedding shop employee during a robbery Monday, police said.
The man told the employee he had a gun under his shirt during the robbery at 5:30 p.m. at Cordially Yours, 8501 Kennedy Ave., Highland police Detective Shawn Anderson said. The man never displayed a gun, Anderson said.
The robber took cash from the store's register, ordered the employee into a bathroom and ripped out phone lines, Anderson said.
The robbery Monday resembled another recent store robbery, Anderson said. The robberies could be linked, he said.
The robber is described as a white man, approximately 21 years old with short red hair, Anderson said. The suspect was described as standing about 5 feet 6 inches and weighing about 170 pounds, Anderson said. The robber was described as wearing a T-shirt, sweat pants and a navy blue Chicago Bears stocking cap, Anderson said.
Anyone with information on the robbery can call Anderson at (219) 838-3184, ext. 3312.
