VALPARAISO | Michael Haughee, a former Hebron official and former Lake County deputy prosecutor, faces another year behind bars.

Haughee admitted this week to violating the probation he was given after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a disabled woman in 2006.

Haughee, who is being held without bond at the Porter County Jail, said during a video hearing he failed to advise probation of a change of address within 24 hours, according to staff for Porter Circuit Court Judge Mary Harper.

He also admitted to missing an appointment with his probation officer, Kim Falatic, because of the recent flooding.

A further hearing was scheduled for Oct. 16.

Haughee faces as much as one year behind bars, which is the amount of probation time he was given for his sexual assault conviction, Falatic said.

A jury found Haughee guilty in January on felony counts of sexual battery and criminal confinement and a misdemeanor count of interference with the reporting of a crime.

A disabled Hebron woman said Haughee showed up at her apartment Feb. 18, 2006, and forced a kiss on her, began groping her chest and prevented her from using her telephone to call for help.

Harper sentenced Haughee to one year in jail, which was completed in half that time with good behavior.

When Haughee, a suspended attorney, was released in September from the Porter County Jail, he was transported to Lake County to face a felony charge of stealing money from one of his law clients, said Neil Hannon, chief of Porter County Adult Probation.

After bonding out of jail in Lake County, Haughee decided to live in Dyer, Hannon said.

Haughee then decided to move south to Tell City, Ind., but needed permission from the court, Hannon said.
