Woman falls from man's moving vehicle
CHESTERTON | A Chesterton man was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident after he was accused of driving with his ex-girlfriend on his vehicle's hood, seeing her fall off and leaving the scene.
Arrested after the incident at 4 a.m. Tuesday was Johnathan Kleinman, 43, of 1005 S. 23rd St. The incident occurred at his home.
Kleinman told police he and his ex-girlfriend argued at his home, so he tried to drive away. He told police his ex-girlfriend jumped on the hood to make him stop, but he drove slowly. He told police she jumped off. Not believing she was injured, he drove away to diffuse the situation.
The injured woman, however, told police she fell off and Kleinman drove away.

Vandalism. Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W. County Road 1100 North, reported the former Victory Park sheds, which are under control of the church, were vandalized. A vending machine was also damaged.
Theft. Valparaiso resident Jeffrey Ryan reported $2,100 worth of golf clubs stolen from his vehicle on Hogan Avenue in Chesterton.

Theft. Belmont Street resident Patricia Burton reported a $200 television and DVD player stolen from her vehicle.
