Blue Chip Casino on Wednesday unveiled the completed top floor of a new $130 million hotel and convention center.
Work got underway in March 2007 on the 22-story hotel, featuring a 15,000-square-foot convention center, a spa and other amenities.
The hotel was designed with a curved glass exterior to tower above other Northwest Indiana landmarks and feature views of nearby Lake Michigan.
Blue Chip parent Boyd Gaming Corp. expects the new hotel and convention center to strengthen Blue Chip's performance in the northern Indiana market, which includes steep competition from nearby Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Mich.
