HOBART | Alfresco dining soon will come to Lake George.

Gerald Urankar, of Valparaiso Exterior Designers, plans to have an outdoor eating area at the back of Lake Park Restaurant, 7 Old Ridge Road.

The area, which strictly would be for dining, would include 16 dining tables placed on top of a concrete base or pergola.

The area also would be landscaped and lighted by soft, ground-level lights, Urankar said.

Hobart planners stipulated there can be no bands or loud music played over public address systems. The board also stipulated that the outdoor eating area can stay open no later than 10 p.m.

Drainage plans, which will have to be worked out with the city engineer, also will need to be provided, board members stated as part of the requirements.
