HOBART | Police have again arrested the man who had sex with a chicken and killed the bird in a Valparaiso motel in 2001, authorities said.
Police arrested Michael Bessigano, of Hobart, on a parole violation Thursday, said Hobart Police Chief Rod Gonzalez. Bessigano was taken to Lake County Jail, Gonzalez said.
The Hobart Police Department did not initiate the charges on which Bessigano was arrested, Gonzalez said. Gonzalez could not say what agency brought the charges or describe the nature of Bessigano's alleged crime.
Bessigano was convicted of animal cruelty and theft in 2002. He stole the chicken from a farm and had sex with the bird in a motel room. The bird died, and Bessigano discarded the carcass. Bessigano was also convicted of animal cruelty in 1993 for a matter involving a dog.
