LAKE COUNTY | For 14 years, Peoples Bank has provided a holiday season to remember for hundreds of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana members. Each year, employees of Peoples Bank raise money through social events to benefit boys and girls who might not, otherwise, receive presents for Christmas.

"Peoples Bank employees are very creative in raising funds for our organization," said Jose Munoz, director of club services for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana. Employees of the bank collect dollars by hosting football and basketball pools, casual dress days and bingo. Each event is sponsored by a bank department such as the Loan Department, Marketing or Trust department.

Each dollar raised by employees is matched by the bank. This year, more than $7,000 was raised.

The donation was used to purchase coats, gloves, hats, clothing and toys for 70 club members. Items were purchased from collaborative partners of SEARS at Westfield Southlake Mall in Hobart and the Highland Target location.

"We count on Peoples Bank's generosity each year," admitted Munoz. "Without their support, we literally would have club members who would not have a Christmas at all."
