On June 23, I read that former East Chicago Mayor Robert Pastrick was being civilly sued for damages to the city for his "alleged" involvement in the 1999 sidewalks-for-votes scandal.
I also read, after being arrested for bribery and theft, Hancock County Auditor Linda Greene tendered her letter of resignation but stated this should not be an admission of her guilt.
Alleged? Not guilty? Were these charges completely unsubstantiated?
Please don't doubt the power of a vote!
