How can the words "Good Government" even come out of Rob Guetzloff's mouth? As the poster child for the term "political shenanigans" and the remaining Schererville councilman from a very dark era in our town's political history, Gueztloff should consider tendering his resignation along with Police Chief Dave Dowling.

Let's remember back to 2000, when Guetzloff was elected on a platform of political reform. The first order of business taken by the newly elected Guetzloff was to offer his vote approving several ordinances that either eliminated several employees' positions or downgraded them.

All of the affected employees were hires or appointments of his political opponent or connected to the Republican faction of the Schererville Town Council, and all of the employees had proven to be effective and productive agents of the town, as shown in their performance reviews.

Here's a Dec. 7, 1999, quote from Guetzloff regarding personnel changes even prior to Guetzloff being sworn as a councilman: "The people of Schererville are expecting a change because otherwise Councilmen Mark Cowan and Tom Shanley would be serving a second term."

Swap Cowan and Shanley for the names Steve Kil and Mike Troxell, and let's hear Gueztloff make the same statement. While he's at it, add his own name to the resignation list.

Frank Morgan, Schererville
