The Porter Amateur, a 72-hole medal play flight championship, will be held Sept. 22, 23, 29 and 30. There will be three divisions: Two masters flights, three open flights and one ladies flights. Round 1 will be Sept. 22 at The Course at Aberdeen; Round 2, Sept. 23 at Forest Park and the Brassie; Round 3, Sept. 29 at Forest Park; Round 4, Sept. 30 at The Brassie and Valparaiso Country Club.

CLINICS | Creekside

The First Tee of Valparaiso will hold its final SNAG class of July at Creekside Golf Course from 2-3 p.m. Friday. SNAG classes are for children ages 3-5 with little or no exposure to golf. Oversized clubs, tennis balls, and "snag" targets are used. The fee is $15 per session.

The First Tee of Valparaiso will hold its final Linkster class of July at Creekside Golf Course Monday from 3-4 p.m. Children ages 5-7 may register for Linkster classes which include instruction on grip, posture, and hands-on experience. The fee is $15 per session.

OUTING | Pheasant Valley Country Club

The Greater Crown Point Chamber of Commerce is having its annual golf outing today at Pheasant Valley Country Club. Shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. Check-in is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Cost for golf and a cart is $50. A steak or chicken dinner afterwards is $35.

The 13th annual Dan Condron memorial golf outing will be held at Turkey Creek Golf Course on Saturday. Cost is $100. Condron, a former Munster police officer, was killed in an auto accident in 1994.
